About

What is TechneColored?

TechneColored is a STEM resource made for high school students. It breaks down science concepts in a way that’s actually understandable, offers notes and study tools, and encourages students to see the world around them as their lab. The name TechneColored comes from the Greek word τέχνη (techne), which means skill, craft, or technique, but it also means art. Science has always felt like that to me: something creative, layered, colorful, and alive. STEM isn’t monotone, It’s a spectrum, and there’s a place in it for everyone.

About Me

Hey there! My name is Shiloh! I’ve been a Girl Scout for thirteen years, and I’m so happy you are on my page. I’ve worked extremely hard on everything in this domain, so I’m really proud of it!

That photo over there is me! You may notice I have a microphone on my cheek. This photo was taken in the rehearsal rooms at my high-school, roughly 10 minutes before I went on stage for my “Teen Talent Competition” audition. I was terrified, but I’ve made it to the semi-finals so far, so I should be fine!

I love community service, too! I’ve grown up in Girl Scouts, so I always had it strongly reinforced that serving others serves me. I oftentimes will find myself at daycares, shelters, or churches helping out, and honestly, it’s the most rewarding experience. I feel the same way about my website and TechneColored as a whole.

I hope you enjoy my website, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out via the peer tutoring forms, or my email, technecolored@gmail.com. I may not always respond fast, but I will respond eventually! Thank you, again, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

If you can’t tell, I love theater! I also love all things music, reading, and writing. More than this, however, I love neuroscience. I know, it sounds weird, but I love how we’ve developed as humans. I plan on majoring in either psychological sciences or neuroscience, which is just a fancy way of saying I want a degree in psychoanalysis.

I have two brothers, a dog, and a cat! My family is very science oriented, with my parents both being physicians, but I am the only child planning on going into science. I’ve always loved learning, so making this website has been a super fun experience. I’m so thankful for everyone who has supported me through this.
